David is a Fellow of the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors with over 20 years experience in the field of Ergonomics. He is an expert in Work-Related Injury Prevention and undertakes specialist DSE workstaion assessments and training for computer users and non computer workers. Ideally this this work is preventative, but if an injury has already occurred he can facilitate a rapid return to work and prevent the injury reoccurring.
David also combines his ergonomics and Osteopathy by teaching Ergonomics CPD courses to other therapists and Doctors. Ergotherapy is a registered consultancy with the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
David has worked for over 60 clients from many industries from power stations to healthcare, advertising and charities. A list of some of the clients is listed here.
David graduated from Loughborough University of Technology with a Honours degree in Ergonomics in 1990 and worked for Royal Mail Research and Development assessing and developing postal equipment from sorting machines to delivery trollies. He then went on to work for IDEO Product Development working on projects including mobile phones, office furniture and medical equipment. Since retraining as an Osteopath in 1999 David has moved more into the Health & Safety field with specialist workstation assessments, although he continued to work with Royal Mail technical services.
Ergotherapy is also registered with the Health & Safety Executive list of consultants “Occupational Safety & Health Consultants Registry”.
